One of the liveliest restaurants is Big Spoon Little Spoon where the menu is sleek and contemporary.
Chef Leigh Marino is now the sole owner and is making his mark on the menu and the vibe within the restaurant dining room. Leigh developed his skills in many of Melbourne’s great restaurants and internationally (ex Oyster Little Bourke, Ristorante Cracco / Milan Italy, The Estelle.) Leigh and his team serve a modern menu sourced locally. Or as they say, “it is the same familiar food you’ve always loved, with an extra spoonful of awesome.”
The menu features a range of share plates, mains, entrées, desserts and as the menu suggests if you still can’t decide you can choose the chef’s own tasting menu which is revised daily.
The wine list has a respectable smattering of local wines such as a Chestnut Hill Pinot Noir and a Lightfoot and Sons Cab Sauv as well as wines from the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and northern Victoria.
Coming in 2015 is a monthly ‘pop up’ restaurant allowing the chef and the team to show their diversity and skills in the kitchen.
