Meeniyan has always been a delightful town to visit. It is full of country character and charm. Combined with a few great retail shops and two great foodie venues it has become a destination town ideal for a day trip.
Moos at Meeniyan – World Food Dinners
Moos at Meeniyan is a perennial favourite and continues to consistently serve up great food and service.
Recently, owner Marty instigated a series of World Food dinner events that have proven to be very popular. In the past the special dinner has travelled to Mauritius, Belarus and Bolivia. The dinners are held monthly and the entire menu is based around the unique flavours of the particular country.
The Meeniyan Store
Supporting dozens of Gippsland farmers big and small the Meeniyan Store is operated by the mother and daughter team of Felicity and Kirsten Jones.
The concept behind the store is to stock seasonal and low food mile produce. Local ice cream, fruit and veg, condiments, eggs and herbs provided from local gardens. You can also feel good about the coffee as it is organic and free trade.
