Stephen and Kim Kleinitz haven’t glanced back at the bright city lights since their move to East Gippsland five years ago. Raised on a dairy farm as the middle child of seven, for owner Steve it was a homecoming back to his beloved Nungurner, a tiny hamlet rising up from the shores of the Gippsland Lakes between Metung and Lakes Entrance.
A serendipitous meeting with Kim on a crowded dance floor in Sydney four years earlier was the start of a whirlwind romance that saw the couple relocating to Nungurner in 2011, married, with their second child on the way.
Since then, Kim has been able to put her hospitality background to good use, taking over the reins of the Kleinitz family’s accommodation business, Jetty Road Retreat.
Perfectly situated between Metung and Lakes Entrance, Nungurner is a rare, hidden gem you’ll delight in discovering for an unforgettable stay. The unique accommodation retreats offer a secluded peaceful haven to relax away from the holiday crowds, and are an ideal base for exploring the beautiful East Gippsland region.
Choose from the multi award winning accommodation Jetty Road Retreat, offering secluded lakeside accommodation on the Gippsland Lakes. Each of the four, two bedroom self-contained units features waterfront views, with complimentary access to a private jetty and kayaks.
